There are 265 monuments or sites which are regarded as of historical importance in Agra zone of Archeological Survey of India. Not all of them are ticketed.

Entry Tickes For Monuments at Agra:

There are different tickets for different monuments in Agra. You need to know the details. It is to be noted that the historical monuments of Agra opens from sunset to sunrise, round the year. There are no fix timings. 

To Buy Ticket:

You can buy tickets for Taj Mahal from western gate, southern gate and eastern gate ticket outlets, of Uttar Pradesh Tourism. Sale of ticket timings are also from sunset to sunrise. Though, tickets from southern gates are available from 8.00AM to 5.00 PM.

Ticketed Monuments in Agra

In Agra, Taj Mahal, Agra Fort (Red Fort), and Fatehpur Sikri are tickted by the Archeological Survey of india, which is responsible for preservation and maintenance of these UNESCO Heritage and other monuments.

Besides,  Akbar’s Tomb and Mariam’s Tomb at Sikandara, Agra, Itmad-ud-Daula Tomb, Mehtab Bagh and Ram Bagh are non-UNESCO   Heritage monuments and one need to buy a ticket to see them. There are different tickets and rates for each of them.

Fatehpur Sikri, Agra

Taj Mahal, Agra Fort and Fatehpur Sikri

Citizens of India and visitors of SAARC (Bangladesh, Nepal, Bhutan, Sri Lanka, Pakistan, Maldives and Afghanistan) and BIMSTEC Countries (Bangladesh, Nepal, Bhutan, Sri Lanka, Thailand and Myanmar) – Rs. 40 per head, which includes ADA toll tax of Rs 10 per ticket.

The tickets to Akbar’s Tomb and Itmad-ud-Daula are priced at Rs 20/ per head while the tickets to Mariam’s Tomb, Sikandara, Ram Bagh and Mehtab Bagh carry a price tag of Rs 15/ per head.

Other foreign nationals:

Taj Mahal : Rs. 1000/- per head which includes Rs 500 per head as Toll Tax (Agra Development Authority)

Agra Fort : Rs 550/ per head

Fatehpur Sikri : Rs 510/ per head

Akbar’s Tomb, Sikandara : Rs 210/ per head

Itmad-ud-Daula : Rs 210/ per head

Mariam’s Tomb, Sikandara : Rs 200/ per head

Mehtab Bagh : Rs 200/ per head

Ram Bagh : Rs 200/ per head

Children of any origin, below the age of 15 years are exempted for buying a ticket to any monument.

There is no separate entry ticket for Taj Museum for any ticked visitor, irrespective of his nationality.

The parking fees are charged separately which varies time to time. Indians and foreign nationals are charged equal rates.

Audio Guides are available:

Tourists can get self-guided audio guide from the ticket windows of main three monuments, accompanied by a map of the monument. The guides are available in a number of foregin languages such as  Hindi, English, German, French, Italian, Spanish, Japanese and Bengali. Rs 105 for English and other foreign laguages are charged for an audio guide. An amount of Rs 63 is chargeable from tourists who wish the guide in hindi and regional languages.

Some Do’s and Do not’s inside Taj Mahal and other monuments

  • Hire only approved guide and photographer.
  • Be prepared to walk down or go by golf cart to reach Taj Mahal from parking.
  • Eating and smoking is prohibited inside Taj Mahal and other monuments.
  • Only water bottles are allowed inside the Taj Mahal.
  • Foreginers are given shoe cover, half liter water bottle, tourist guide map of Agra, aloongwith entry tickets
  • Foreigners are entitled for free ride in battery bus and golf carts.
  • Travel with light handbag to facilitate security check inside.
  • Do not touch or scratch the walls of the monuments.
  • Do visit Taj Mahal museum inside Taj. it operates from 10.00 AM to 5.00 PM and entry is free.
